Lavender Menace Art Print

Lavender Menace Art Print, Feminist Lesbian Wall Art

Celebrate LGBTQ history and lesbian pride with this striking Lavender Menace art print. Inspired by the bold activists of the 1970s women's movement, this feminist poster makes a powerful statement on any wall.

The Story Behind the Art

The term "lavender menace" was originally used to dismiss lesbians within the feminist movement. In 1970, a group of brave activists reclaimed it, disrupting a women's event wearing T-shirts that read "Lavender Menace" to protest discrimination against lesbians. By 1971, the crowd embraced them, and lesbian rights became a recognised part of the feminist cause.

This queer wall art captures that spirit of resilience and pride, making it the perfect piece for anyone who values equality, inclusivity, and LGBTQ history.
