Queer Joy Bandana
The first bandana I ever made, and still the one I reach for.
A wearable declaration of queer joy, printed in white ink on black cotton. Unicorns, carnations, lavender and roses, all symbols with real queer history behind them, woven together with affirming phrases into one bold composition. The layout is a nod to the queer hanky code: visibility, solidarity, desire and resistance, coded once out of necessity and worn now out of choice.
I grew up under Section 28. Finding joy anyway is the whole point.
